LATW Cloud vs Weglot: the Weglot alternative where you keep your translations

Weglot is a proven, polished way to translate a website without touching a line of code. LATW Cloud is a Weglot alternative that does the same job with two differences that matter: you pay once for the words you translate instead of a yearly plan, and every translation is saved in your own site - not in someone else's account.

The real difference: an engine vs a host

With Weglot, visitors get your translated pages from Weglot's servers - so your languages are only online while Weglot is up and your plan is paid. LATW Cloud only does the translating: every translation is saved in your own site, it belongs to you, and LATW never stands between you and your visitors.

Weglot translation host

Your languages live on Weglot's servers

Translated pages are served from Weglot, and the translations are stored in your Weglot project - not in your site. If Weglot is unavailable, so are your translated pages. If the subscription ends, they go offline.

LATW Cloud translation engine

Your languages live on your site - and they are yours

LATW Cloud saves every translation as native content in your own multilingual system, served by your own server. Visitors, Google and AI assistants never touch LATW. You own the translations: disconnect, stop paying or switch tools, and every language stays online.

What a real site costs

A 50,000-word site translated into 4 languages is 200,000 translated words - on either service.

LATW Cloud - Economy GPT-6 Luna
$0.78 once
LATW Cloud - Standard GPT-6 Sol
$15.60 once
LATW Cloud - Premium GPT-6 Astra
$78.00 once
Weglot Pro (200,000 words, 5 languages)
€790 every year

LATW Cloud at Pay as you go prices with no monthly fee; paid plans cut Credits by 20-40% and Batch mode halves them again. Later edits are charged only for the changed content. Weglot Pro is €79 billed monthly or €790 billed yearly; its smaller Business plan allows 50,000 words and 3 languages.

Why LATW Cloud is the better Weglot alternative

01

Your translations are yours

Everything is saved in WPML, Polylang or LATW Multilingual on your site. Disconnect, stop topping up or switch tools - every translated page keeps working.

02

Pay once, not every year

Credits pay for a translation once. There is no allowance to renew and no tier to keep for translations to stay online - you pay again only for new or changed content.

03

No language limit

Add as many languages as your multilingual setup supports. On Weglot each extra language counts against your plan's limit and its word allowance.

04

You choose the AI

Economy, Standard or Premium on GPT-6 Luna, Sol and Astra - per site or per job - plus a custom prompt for your brand voice, or connect your own AI API keys from Solo.

05

No surprises on the bill

You see the cost of every job before it starts and are never charged more than 10% above it. Budget limits and per-site cost reports keep client work billable.

06

Built for many sites

One account, one Credits balance and shared glossaries for up to 30 sites on Agency at $79 a month - with a cost report per client and CSV export for rebilling.

Where Weglot is still the better pick

  • Platforms beyond WordPress, today: Weglot already runs on Shopify, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace and many more. LATW Cloud apps for those platforms are coming, but today LATW Cloud translates WordPress sites.

  • No multilingual plugin needed: Weglot brings its own language URLs and switcher. LATW Cloud needs WPML, Polylang or LATW Multilingual Pro on the site - with WPML or Polylang the LATW plugin is free, but one more piece to install.

  • Visual editor and human translators: Weglot lets you fix text in context on the live page and order professional translations from the same dashboard. With LATW Cloud you edit in WordPress, and human review is up to you.

Is LATW Cloud better than Weglot?+

For a WordPress site running WPML, Polylang or LATW Multilingual Pro, usually yes: you pay per word translated instead of a recurring plan, there is no language limit, and every translation is saved in your own site. Weglot is the better fit if you need Shopify, Wix or Webflow today, a visual editor, or professional human translators in the same tool.

Is LATW Cloud cheaper than Weglot?+

In almost every case, yes. Translating a 50,000-word site into 4 languages is 200,000 words: on Weglot that needs the Pro plan at €790 a year, every year; on LATW Cloud it costs $0.78 on Economy or $15.60 on Standard, paid once. Afterwards you pay only for new or changed content.

What is the best Weglot alternative for WordPress?+

If you already run WPML or Polylang, LATW Cloud with the free LATW for WPML or LATW for Polylang plugin is the most direct Weglot alternative: the same hands-off AI translation, but the translations land in your multilingual plugin and stay there. If you have no multilingual plugin yet, LATW Multilingual Pro gives you languages, URLs and SEO, and LATW Cloud translates it.

What happens to my translations if I cancel?+

With LATW Cloud, nothing - translations are written into WPML, Polylang or LATW Multilingual on your site, so they keep working when you disconnect or stop topping up. Weglot stores translations in your Weglot project and serves them while the subscription runs; exporting them is an Advanced-plan feature.

Can I move from Weglot to LATW Cloud?+

Yes. Install WPML or Polylang with the matching free LATW plugin (or LATW Multilingual Pro), connect it to LATW Cloud and translate the site - with Economy a typical site costs less than a dollar per language. Keep Weglot running until the new translations are reviewed, then switch it off; set up redirects if your translated URLs change.

Does LATW Cloud count words the same way as Weglot?+

Both count each word once per target language. The difference is what you pay for. On Weglot your plan has to cover every translated word on your site, every month or year, for as long as it stays online - if you go over the limit, translations stop until you upgrade or delete some. On LATW Cloud you pay for words when you translate them, once: you see the estimate before the job, and a translation you have already paid for costs nothing to keep.

Does LATW Cloud work with WooCommerce like Weglot?+

Yes, through the plugin it connects to. Products, variations and attributes need a LATW Pro licence for the domain; everything else the free plugin translates also translates through LATW Cloud.

Translate once. Keep it forever.
